How to Edit an Existing Scheduled Payment

Learn how to modify active AffiniPay payment schedules, update credit card info, and retry failed charges while maintaining your existing billing records.

Updated yesterday

Once you have created a scheduled payment profile in AffiniPay, you can modify its details at any time to accommodate changes in billing or payment methods.

What You Can Update

You have the flexibility to modify almost every aspect of an active payment profile:

  • Payment Method: Update the credit card or bank account number.

  • Billing Frequency: Change how often the client is charged.

  • Payment Amounts: Adjust the dollar amount of each individual occurrence.

  • Final Totals: Update the total target amount for the schedule.

Handling Failed Charges

If a payment failed due to outdated or incorrect information, updating the card details allows you to retry the failed charges immediately. The new payment information will automatically apply to all future scheduled charges.

🚫 Prohibited Change: You cannot change the deposit (destination) account once a schedule has been created. If you need to deposit funds into a different account, you must cancel the existing schedule and create a new one.
